Dental Filling Options

Our dentists will always advise you on what kind of dental filling material is best suited to your situation and discuss with you if you would like a particular type of filling material such as white tooth coloured dental fillings.

Amalgam Dental Fillings - are silver coloured and are made by combining mercury and a silver alloy (50% mercury, 35% silver, 15% tin, copper and other metals). Amalgam is long lasting and hard wearing and it is not unusual for an amalgam filling to last 15 to 20 years.

Amalgam dental fillings are normally used on the back chewing teeth. Research into the safety of dental amalgam has been carried out for many years. So far, no reputable controlled studies have found a connection between amalgam fillings and any medical problem.

Composite White Dental Fillings - are strong, but may not be as hard wearing as amalgam fillings. Composite fillings are available in many tooth coloured shades to match your existing teeth and are made from powdered glass quartz, silica or other ceramic particles added to a resin base.

Dental Filling cost guidelines single Amalgam Filling from 47.00 and White Filling from 59.00

Our dentists and patient care team will always provide you with a written treatment plan including details of any treatment and advise you of the cost, prior to the treatment being carried out.
