CBCT Scanner

CBCT Scanner

Our new dental CBCT scanner provides detailed 3D images of your teeth and jawbone, ensuring your safety with low radiation exposure. It’s versatile, aiding in various dental procedures like implant planning and assessing TMJ issues. This technology enables accurate diagnosis, precise treatment planning, and clearer communication about your oral health. It’s a significant advancement in dental care, enhancing your treatment experience while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

What is CBCT?

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is an advanced imaging technique used when regular X-rays don’t give enough detail. It creates detailed 3D images of your teeth, bones, and other tissues in one scan. CBCT uses a rotating X-ray beam to take many pictures from different angles and combines them into a 3D image. It’s safer than traditional CT scans because it uses less radiation.

Why do I need a CBCT scan?

CBCT scans help plan treatments more accurately, especially for complex cases like implants or tooth removal. They provide important details about your teeth and bones that help your dentist make decisions about your treatment. For example, they can show if there’s enough space for implants or if a tooth is in an unusual position.

How is the scan done?

During the scan, you’ll stand or sit still while the machine moves around you. It doesn’t touch you, and it’s painless. You’ll need to take off any metal objects, like jewellery, as they can affect the pictures.

Benefits and Risks

CBCT gives clear images and helps plan treatments better. It’s safe, with no lasting radiation in your body. Risks are minimal, but pregnant women and children need to be careful because of radiation exposure.

Appointment Details

The scan takes about 20 to 40 seconds, but plan for 30 minutes for your appointment. After the scan, you’ll come back to discuss the results and your treatment options with your dentist.
